I disagree... I love hearing all the harmonies come in, and I think the
repetition is everything in this song, everything good.  It makes it a
balled.... An anthem, really... And it catches you up in the swell
emotionally, passionately. I wouldn't want it sung, or written any other
way.

I've come to think of it, what IS this about really? I mean, why are they
getting "too much sunshine"? What has the sunshine to do with the rest of
the lyrics?
 
"Nothing changes but the colour changes hue"... could that be referring to
the skin getting "too much sunshine" and becoming burnt?
 
The more I try to get into and understand the lyrics, the less I
understand...
 
What is the essential about the song, musically, to me is the verses with
that rocking riff.
 
By the way, the opening line 
"Never had so much fun since my daddy took the V8 away" 
is like taken off the Beach Boys'
"we had fun fun fun since my daddy took the T-bird away".
I think that's cool.
