I guess I'm lucky to work for a community college district.  Not only do they
encourage political activism in students, they expect it from faculty and staff
as well.  They let us know when there are elections in any local municipality
and tell us to go out and vote.  They don't care how we vote either.  I think
several faculty members are quite active in state politics in both parties as
well.
