Travis,
I would have to agree with you on the Some Kids solo. For me the highlight
of the last few gigs I've seen has been the endless solo at the end of that
song - close to guitar heaven for me!
Other Oils guitar solo highlights:
Is It Now? - I don't know about anyone else but I pump up the volume of my
stereo during the last bit of this song on the Head Injuries album!
Eye Contact - great version from Narrabeen Sands show on The Real Thing
single!
Wedding Cake Island - great emotional playing
Hercules - the bit at the end of the song
Other bands:
Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptiness
Manic Street Preachers - If You Tolerate This...
Spy v Spy - A.O. Mod TV
Died Pretty - State of Graceful Mourning - simple but beautiful
The Clash - Total Control
More will come to me later... also not usually into the guitar solos but the
ones I like seem to be short and sweet and fit into the rest of the song and
don't sound like they're out of place or in there for the sake of it!
Cheers,
Andrew
