He is indeed a Dane.

I have yet to meet a Dane who doesn't spit or make animated spitting mime 
at the mere mention of the man.  Then again, the vast majority of the Danes 
I know are the ones getting government money to throw at my department to 
research precautionary scientific paradigms, so it's an entirely skewed 
sample to be certain.

Perhaps that is why he is in exile and pandering elsewhere?  He's certainly 
at odds with the stated scientific decision-making objectives of the 
government of his native land!
