This is where I get hate mail.

While I'm definitely sad over the breakup of Midnihgt Oil, it really feels
like a transormation, rather than a destruction. Peter's still going to be
around, and it looks like he'll be able to get into more of the projects
he's been itching to do all these years. The rest of the band will be
together, and while another singer will be akward, I could see them doing
lots of instrumentals, like movie and TV soundtracks.

It could have happened a lot differently. They didn't break up due to a
lovers quarrell, Rob's asthma lungs, Bones shooting up caffeine in a back
alley, aliens taking over the planet, or a fluke plane crash. Peter just
decided to move on.

Odd that this happened on Monday Dec 2nd. Yesterday was a bit of a
transformation as well; I started a new job, and finished the first course
in my Technical Writing program. I got my ID badge today, and the 'MIDNIGHT
OIL' on the top of my dk blue 20,000 watts RSL shirt is clearly visible in
the badge photo. Take that, Microsoft! (Now I feel all badass.)

And yes, the group should definitely stay together!

Long live the Oils,
C-ko
