[Powderworks] Aussie workers: the Bulldogs

G'day Powdies,

If the overspend had just been enough for a half or full player then maybe
the fine (i.e. what happened to the Broncos, Cowboys and someone else
recently) but the $600k last season, $400k for this season plus the apparent
Mill they were planning on next year just takes it way over the top. They
weren't frank and open as they said they would be, as, apparently, is
evidenced by the doctored documents that came to light over night.

The entire Board needs to go, the club needs to be fined substantially and
they may as well not participate in the finals this year as it would be, in
my opinion, a very hollow victory if they got up. They have been the team
of the year and it's a pity the players (and fans) will have to suffer as
well but a lot of other clubs have let players go because of the cap and the
Dogs obviously can't afford the players they have on the park and stay under
the cap.

They might be lucky and retain a lot of their players for next year as most
clubs have spent all their $$ for next season, I hear the Tigers still have
some cash left though so there might be a home for a couple of Doggies over
there. It's either that or take a pay cut, play together next year and show
the League and all the fans that they can put it behind them, have pride in
their club and can take out the cup (that they probably deserved this year).

This weekends game between the Raiders and Doggies should be interesting,
there'll be a lot of tension let loose on that ground and I can see a bit of
biff being handed out to Woolford (should have kept his mouth shut). Don't
know that I'd want to be in the crowd for it though, I don't think it would
take much to upset a bunch of Doggie fans with a gut full of beer at the
moment ;-)

Please note my opinion has nothing to do with the fact that I'm a Canberra
Raiders fan and that the Doggies loss may very well be our gain (entry into
the finals series) ;-)

Cheers

Daz
