Some interesting things to look into, one being "nothing is free", or at least not much.  Groups.io is a paid service, with a mini free option of 1G storage.  As usual there'll be a bit of research and contemplation over the next step to take.

From a quick Google search it looks like a lot of groups are relocating to Groups.io (https://groups.io/) They have a process to copy "members, messages and other content from your Yahoo Group to your Groups.io group." Info on the transfer process: https://groups.io/static/transfer
