1.     As stated the rejection of the Mary River Dam in SE Queensland on environmental grounds.  Of interest is the day the rejection was announced.  Armistice Day, 2009.

2.     Not giving the final approval to Gunns Pulp Mill in Tasmania before planned studies were completed on its environmental impact.  Pulp Mill has not been built.

3.     Taking Japan to the International Court of Justice re their whaling programme.

4.     He stood up at a labor party conference and openly opposed uranium mining which was his long held view.  Ultimately party policy won out and a new mine was approved with strict environmental guidelines.

Hope that helps,

Hi Powderworkers

Just wondering if anyone has a list of PG's achievements while in government? There was so much bad press in the mainstream media ( as usual) about the insulation scheme etc etc etc but I know that alot of other stuff gets done that isn't noticed, such as protection for the Great Barrier Reef. I will have another look at his website in case I didn't notice the first time. It would be good to understand his achievements however small before his book is published anyway.

Cheers,

Jim.
