The Culture Factory release is independent, with no input from any member of the band.

In my view, this shouldn't be considered anything more than a bootleg. It seems to have been approved by someone (how else would they lay hands on the tapes) but I have no idea why.

Alright...how about the Culture Factory vinyl replica remaster CD?  I can only assume it is different from the Legacy edition as it lacks Gunbarrel highway, so there is no vocal during the sell my solo, but how's the audio?  Amazon customers seem to dislike the remastered sound of this release.
I hope the Oils put a stop to the sale of Oz exports of Diesel as a remaster.  It tarnishes their reputation.

Cheers,

Hey all,
I recently ordered a few of the remasters only to have them sent to the wrong address by mistake.  The seller has them back now, and wants to know if I want to order the rest to (ultimately) save on shipping (Oz to US), so I was wondering if any one could tell me if the remaster of diesel is like the Columbia/Legacy version with the annoying singing during the lone guitar solo, Sell My Soul, or not?

Thanks,
Matt Mesina

when the albums were remastered, all albums from the blue meanie to
blue sky mining were remastered except for Diesel dust as it had
already been done for the legacy edition.

so in short, don't waste your money buying it

cheers

Matt - Maybe you should just ask if anyone has actually received a reissued Diesel and Dust (with the "Digitally Remastered" and "In Support of Oils Exhibition" stickers on it). I ordered all of them from Chaos Music and received all but Diesel, which finally arrived a month or two later and is obviously not the remastered copy - not even the one from several years earlier. I did not bother to return it, because my opinion is that they didn't do Diesel since it was done a couple years earlier. Remember the Oils site said that E&S&M was also being done, which is wasn't. I don't think Diesel was either.

Mike
