I think I joined up in 1996, shortly after Breathe came out. That was a lively climate of discussions to jump into! I also discovered the joys of bootleg trading thanks to generous Powderworkers, and began amassing gigs and b-sides as fast as I could. I can't even imagine my inbox without Powderworks providing Oils news and interesting NMOC...

I remember joining the original group in mid 1994. Seem to remember the
software was called majordomo or something like that.
Its been an invaluable source of information for me. Thanks to all who have
stuck around. Cheers!

Subject: [powderworks] Powderworks Yahoo 10th
anniversary
Hi Everyone,
yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of the Yahoo
incarnation of the
Powderworks group :)!
The group currently has 743
members and I'm happy to report that in
recent years fewer members have left
the group than new members joining
in (the last number I have was 640
members in October 2007 when the
group re-opened after a temporary
shutdown).
Does anyone (Tim?) remember when the group originally started
on the US
(Colorado?) university server and how many members there were in
the zenith?
I think its great the group is still around and for me its
still the
best source for news on the band and its members. Thanks to
everybody
for keeping it alive!
Cheers,
Stephan
