We saw Good vibrations on Friday night - definitely worth a look. It tells the story of Terri Hooley, owner of Good vibrations record store in the heart of Bomb alley in Belfast in the late 70s. He ended up releasing lots of Belfast punk records on his own as the majors wouldn't touch them. The punk scene acted as a bridge between the Unionists and Republicans. Have to admit I'd never heard of him or most of the bands, but the songs really jump out the speakers at you - eg


The bloke who plays Terri Hooley does a great job, and there's good mix of humour and darkness to make for a satisfying film whether you're into the music or not.
