They had to take much of the information down per the family's request, as I have edited the subject matter too. Until he is in sacred ground, his name isn't to be spoken nor pictures to be posted. The family asked that he be referred as Dr Yunupingu or by his initial or as Mr. Yothu Yindi. As I mentioned on Paul Kelly's Facebook page, I have also had to learn cultural sensitivity as I have been dating a Dine' (or as the Spanish named them, Navajo) for three years. Spirits of the deceased are uneasy until they are in sacred ground. Speaking their name will draw them to you rather than let them pass on. You cannot use their name or discuss the hows of their deaths until a certain time after the event. I am sure that all links will be re-posted after the family lets the media know that the time is right.

By the way, the Midnight Oil Facebook page also took down their post about his death as it included a link to the video for Treaty.

Yeah, I heard this on BBC Worldservice Radio just a few hours ago.

Although on their site, I can only see his obituary when you scroll down:

The audio clip might be up later.

They didn't mention Pete by name, but there was a voiceover of him giving a eulogy. (It sure sounded like him to me, so I'm pretty sure it was).

sucks.

Feel lucky to have met him in person when they toured the U.S. a couple years after the Deisel and Dust tour. They played right on our campus at our student union, then stayed to have beers with us.
