Of course I would love Bones back to play…but must admit there’s something exciting about the thought of Giffo playing again.  The Oils had two animals between 80 and 87…Hirst & Gifford.

On reflection I can see why they have released Essential Oils (don’t mention the boxset)…I believe they’re definitely testing the waters and believe they will certainly play some gigs next year. …and the fact that Rotsey Hirst Moginie still play together suggest there’s a great chance of possibly even a new album. Every interview I’ve heard when the reunite question comes up is answered in a way to at the very least suggest there’s a real possibility.  I also think they would relish playing again without the added tension of it being for a natural disaster.  Hirst recently stated how much the Chisel shows excited him when The Break were supporting them. I’d say those shows must have been a real eye opener for he and Moginie and Rotsey.  They would have seen the fans going mad for Chisels and would of I would of thought started them thinking we should be doing this again too.

Little disappointed the band didn’t hold back on the Essential Oils release however and instead done a 30th Anniversary CD of 10,9,8. Could have been similar to the Diesel And Dust release and had remastered tracks and a DVD of the making (come on we know it’s there somewhere).  That album is legendary and if you listen to it today the sound quality is amazing. Can’t believe this was recorded in 1982, and the fact the lyrics still have meaning today means this album is timeless, very rare albums have this about them.  I just think it should have been given a proper 30th anniversary release. It also put a young 21 year old producer at the top of the pile. Would love to know the percentage of bands that picked him to record their albums because of his work on 10,9,8…INXS, Models, Silverchair spring to mind but there would be dozens…even overseas acts.

Well come the election next year Pete you will no longer be an MP…what do ya reckon….you up for it?

They have to play anyway….they still at the very least owe us a farewell tour.

well possibly the response i received from his office is not accurate then. it wasnt a "no comment" reply, but "Peter does not like to talk about his time in the band anymore". as for my comment about getting on stage, it was in reference to why he left the band in the first place. as for the political views, i dunno, but your way off with your assessment of Bones.
