Nick Launay is the reason Martin stopped playing "like that", because post-Nick all Oils solos clock in at exactly 30 seconds to one minute.  It's hard to let loose when playing under the gun of a timer, I'd reckon.

I love what Nick did with the Oils and the other Nick, Cave, but that facet of his production suck ostrich eggs.
