I can't recommend a specific model, but if you're willing to invest a bit more, you should look for one with the "ICE" technology. There might be different names for this, but the basic idea is, that the scanner makes a 3D-scan of the negative and thus is able to recognize and eliminate dust particles and scratches from the image. That can significantly enhance your results and saves you a lot of manual photoshopping like "stamping" and "healing".

Does anyone have a recommendation on a photo negative scanner? I "stumbled across" this gig when I was in NYC (long story), had my camera with me, and took a shedload of pix. Had one blown up to poster size that I got the band to sign and Willie asked me for a copy to send to Rob. Would love to share the pix with the group, but they're sitting in a box in my basement.
