Its quite simple. I saw Peter explaining during a TV interview (in relation to the new uranium mine in SA when he was the Minister for the Environment and Heritage) that regardless of his personal views as a member of the Federal Labour Party he is required to implement party policy. Further if any said development (be it a uranium mine or desal plant) meets the stipulated requirements and is lawful, no one (not even the Minister) can lawfully not approve it. Best he can do is try to ensure that said developments have a minimal impact.

Oils Rule 77 - To attack an individual member of a political party is ludicrous, Mr Garrett is making a bigger contribution to this nation than you or I probably ever will.

Matter of fact, I don't know Peter; I shook hands with him just once. So you're wrong there. Further, I can't understand your subject line. It doesn't make sense.

So when you go calling other people "clowns", particularly someone who is bright enough to be a federal cabinet member, I kinda' wonder whether there's sort of a throwing-stones-at-your-reflection-in-the-mirror thing happening. As you say, he's a FORMER rock star. Do you really understand the rules of cabinet solidarity, that you have to agree with cabinet, or get out? Have you been a cabinet minister yourself, that you also really understand the choices that PG had when he was Environment Minister?

If not, maybe you should keeping fighting the good fight against desalination plants, but without hanging crap and relentlessly, mercilessly, "branding" people in situations that you don't understand, and probably don't want to understand.
