How ironic that the band had 2 changes and they were both bass players....I recall working with a lady back in the early 80s she was living with Rob in his house at Chatswood at the time and I remember asking her what ever happened to the bear. She told me the same story that he became sick and could not go on, she said that he was working in a bank somewhere.....I wonder if bear ever thinks back to what could have been if he stuck with them, although would they have been the band they are now...I also remember Rob (i think) saying when they were inducted into the hall of fame "thanks to bear where ever you are" Bear was good, Giffo was better and Bones was best...

Oils forever forever oils.

Back in 1987 (I think) I recall Peter being interviewed on the radio, mentioned that he thought Bear was working in a bank after leaving the band. Not sure if he was entirely sure. I read the Oils book but I don't remember what it said about his departure from the band.
Great bass player. :-)
Jim.
