We've seen Colin Hay seven or eight times in the last five years (I also caught Men at Work on their last US swing) and he always delivers a tremendous show.  In the last year, as his new label has begun reissuing some of his older albulms, he has dug more deeply into his early solo material, which is very solid.  This and his latest album, which is awfully good, keeps the setlist fresh and not feeling at all like a nostalgia act.  You'll certainly get the top Men at Work hits and an occasional deep cut.  I don't mean any disrespect, but the players currently touring with Hay are the best I have seen behind him - including Men at Work.

The last show we saw, a full band gig in Sandy, Utah, we had the misfortune of sitting in front of a moron who screamed his request for "Looking for Jack" all night, even during the mor emelodic numbers.  Kind of a scrawney, forty-something guy named Colby.  If you see him, kick his ass for me.

Peace,

jp

So I picked up “He Will Have His Way”, the Finn Brothers tribute album.  [I like tribute albums!  :o)]  Distant Sun is performed by someone named Chris Cheney.  Anyone heard of him?  Is he popular in Oz?  Just curious.  Of all the tracks I liked his the best.

Also, Colin Hay is performing near me next month, but the tickets aren’t cheap.  Anyone seen him in concert?  Is it worth it?  Thanks for your input.  Oh, and Happy New Year’s, everybody!
