Howdy powdies!

In 1981 Laurie Anderson came out with "O Superman", and the lyric

"...Well, you don't know me, but I know you.
And I've got a message to give to you.
Here come the planes.
So you better get ready.
Ready to go.
You can come as you are, but pay as you go.
Pay as you go (Wa-huh. Wa-huh. Wa-huh. Wa-huh.)

...Here come the planes
They're American planes
Made in America
Smoking or non-smoking? (Wa-huh. Wa-huh. Wa-huh. Wa-huh.)
...
So hold me, Mom, in your long arms
Your petrochemical arms
Your military arms
In your electronic arms. (Wa-huh. Wa-huh. Wa-huh. Wa-huh.)"

In 1985, Species had the line in "Hercules":
"Why wait for the planes to come,
When everybody's got us on the run?
 South Pacific carrion.
 Here come the Hercules,
 Here comes the submarines,
 Sinking South Pacific dreams".

A reaction to Ms Anderson, or just one of those wacky coincidences that populate the sweaty contortions of rock 'n' roll and a mind's meanderings on a cool summer night in Brisbane; silent but for the crickets chanting "thanks heaps for the rain" as it turns green the cracked and grey lawns and garden beds?
