Interesting side note to this...

saw the oils play at Alexandra Headland at the end of the Aussie tour for Breathe, before it was released (remember the sample tape?).

Waited out the back after the show and Rob left early, alone, in his own car to head to Brisbane for theflights to the states. When  asked what they'd be playing on letterman the week after, he replied that he hoped it was Surf's Up or Sins of Omission - 'something you could get into.' he said.

Interesting to look back on that conversation now.

I think they played Surf's Up on letterman in the end.

I read Mark Dodshon's book again about a month ago and it was Bones that said you don't hear Rob's voice on Breathe. If memory serves, Rob left New Orleans before the band had finished recording Breathe and the only song he contributed to the album was Barest Degree.

Some odd studio clips, snippets of conversation that are not necessarily rooted in the track listing or any particular natural order. Mostly Rob, some Pete, very casual stuff.

It does not seem useful to a DJ at all, but for a dedicated fan it's kind of cool (like the Breathe album, a bit messy, some gems, kind of gets into its own flow after a while...).
