While the Oz Greens team up with the Liberals (the conservatives) to call PGa a hypocrite, political institution Laurie Oakes seems to be changing his mind about the utility of Peter Garrett.

On 14 March this year he described Australian parliamentary life as cruelly, horribly, turning PG into a "Rudd clone":

In today's column (which appeared in Rupert's "Curious Snail" in Brisbane and elsewhere), Mr Oakes admires PG's political nous, saying that PG is sincere, not a hypocrite, and yet also earning "a lot of admiration among his colleagues" for his tough pragmatism:
