On a running note, I was in a 10k race that started out at 48F (9C) which was great, but then it cooled off and started to rain.  And then it rained harder.  The wind was up, and I was soaked and a bit chilly, but then the line "the temperature in the shade had reached a 110 again" came up on the music player, and I counted my blessings.  I thought, if I was running in that heat, I would be dead, so it's not too bad to be a bit wet.

Vivid lyrics,
providing some comfort.

Subject: [powderworks] Another reason I love the Oils...

Hi all,

It's been a bit quiet since the gigs, but I had an Oils epiphany on a few days ago that I wanted to share. I was cruising along on my normal morning run and had my iPod on shuffle with some 3000+ songs (10% Oils). Many songs had driving beats, perfect for a run, but then "Progress" came on and it was like the world changed. My body felt no pain and all I wanted to do was PLAY music!  I love the Oils because, every time I listen (which is daily), I just want to be back on stage performing and playing music.  I feel their live energy every time I listen and sadly, I'm one of those that NEVER saw the Oils live...what an amazing band...

P.S. I also can't get over how much I love the way Peter sings, "Manhattanization is comiiiiIIIIIiiin'" in the studio version of "Progress"...phenomenal :-)
