Midnight Oil

no, we u.s. west coast powdies can stay up less late ;)  as i don't have to work tomorrow on saturday and i'm an insomniac, waiting excitedly for miracle live Oils back from the dead until 3:50 am PDT won't be too difficult.

had i not already been planning for four months to attend the amazing reunion phish shows last week in hampton, va, which just made my work load as an energy regulatory attorney for the state of California (definitely a career for an Oils-inspired youth) that much more compressed this week, maybe i could've used frequent flier miles to have traveled to Australia on two weeks notice for these shows.  I certainly wondered about it.  But I was quite fortunate to have seen our heroes live eleven times from 1985-2002, and if i were going to have traveled to see them in their homeland, it would've been almost twenty years ago.  still, hearing live recordings of the Canberra shows would make up a bit for our loss ;)

glad so many got to see them again!

the oils are going on at 9:50 in melbourne.  melbourne is 15 hours ahead of baltimore (where i live) so i'm going to get up around 6am for good measure.  for those u.s. powdies on the west coast that means you'll have to get up even earlier.

Sorry if this has been posted already, but what time is the broadcast for those of us in the states? If you can specify the time zone too please, THANKS!

Hi all - thanks to everyone for posting the pictures and show reviews. I hope you are all having a terrific time - wish I could be there with you. I'm sure it's warmer than here.

Just wondering who will be online listening to the Sound Relief show - it will be the wee hours of Sat. am for me here in Central Illinois, USA. I'll be up and listening, of course - I remember reading everyone's posts as we were listening to the Oils at Wave Aid a couple of years ago, and it was great fun.

Can't wait!! "See" you online in a few hours...
