Have not seen any reviews yet of the string of Angry Tradesman gigs held over the weekend here in Sydney Town - so I thought I'd give a quick review.
 
I managed to get ' front row / front table " at the Vanguard Show on Sat 20SEP - Album launch
The Band was made up of Dom Turner, Matt Walker and of course Rob. The sound was loud and fast. Rob played a stripped back kit which is very similar to the one used in Backsliders but without the percussive accents and mounted tom - basically was just a kick drum, snare, floor tom, ride cymbal and high hat. Dom used a sampler extensively thru the gig and his sounds were more rock than blues but the influences were still there.Matt Walker played a reserved role and there were obviously a few 'vague ' areas where he attempted to keep up with Dom.
Rob shared the vocals with Dom mostly - there were 2 instrumentals in the set and they flogged out the Backsliders song  "60's Girl ". 
The crowd were quite reserved and there was no encore - bit dissapointed there but heh thats life.
They apparently stayed back to sign copies of their album but I left before this could happen.
 
They placed almost there entire album - I think - if someone wants to correct me on that please do so.

Yeah RightGreat CD - Robs drumming is superb and fast! Guitars are raw and losts of groove. Sort of cross between Backsliders and some raw fuzzy guitar sounds - if that makes sense.
