I would love the footage of that Newcastle earthquake concert!!! Is it the full show?

That was the first time i ever saw the Oils.....It was just before Blue Sky Mining came out so they were at their peak popularity wise....They were they last band on, and the place (which had an electric atmosphere all day) just kicked up another gear, and the crowd were so pumped to see them.....and i still put that day down as the best concert i've ever been to... It was the cream of Oz pub rock at the time.... Oils,Split Enz,Crowded House,The Angels,Noiseworks,Jimmy Barnes,Johnny Diesel and the Injectors,Ian Moss,Spy V Spy,Ross Wilson,Marc Hunter,The Party Boys.

It would be good if someone could organise a definitive oils DVD set with every bit of TV footage that people have collected of them around the world.... just when you think you had everything, you find out that there are a lot more little gems people have collected out there

  Hi.
Upon recently returning to oz and digging into my storage unit, I also find a plethora of old vids with a scattering of oils 'stuff' on them. This ranges from the standard film clips (which are obviously obsolete with 20k watt) to other more valuable clips such as live performances at the Newcastle earthquake relief benefit, a good chunk of most artists at the 'our common future' benefit, interviews with mega, mullet bearing tool richard wilson to mr garrett on the midday show with bert newton talking about homeless kids. I also have the yothu yindi doco when they toured the USA with the oils and graffiti man. This is a good doco as it has things like home vids that bones and others are filming. So, where is all this going, you ask ?
It is not cost effective to drop these off to the local geek at blockbuster and ask to copy the whole vid tape to be converted to digital, and I would like it on dig to save it. If it is out there, I would like to get hold of it, but am not aware if it is. So, I am going to put it out to the group that if someone can convert this stuff, then it is all theirs as long as it is then also shared out to anyone else wanting it. I am in melbourne for a few weeks more only, so I need to work out what to do with this stuff to save it.
Can, and does anyone want to, help get this stuff digitized ?
