Greetings Powdies old and new.
Another notice of movement in the management:  Stephan has decided to demote himself from list-owner to list-moderator.  In the process of that he offered me the owner role, which I have accepted until such time as that ceases to work in the common interest.  Thanks to Stephan for resuscitating the vessel du vox when it was suspended.
Not much is expected to change.  Democracy basically rules. Anarchy is fine as long as noone gets hurt.  Keep in mind that Yahoo outlines the basic set of terms and conditions that limit what can be done here, usually summarized by (but not limited to): no porn, no defamation, no libel, no copyright breaching, no acts of terrorism, etc.  You get the idea.  Those rules basically apply - "This ain't Kansas, Dorothy", we live in the real world and real world laws apply, as best as we can understand them.
Down the track I'm thinking of upping the moderator count to try out some sort of self-rule for the list, since there's so many members.  That way the job of sorting out ongoing matters would be in the hands of a reasonably high head-count of active moderators and the list owner's role would fall back to a simpler "in case the whole thing unravels" clean-up status.
Mail any management beefs/ideas to the current moderators on:

Cheers and back to MOC, NMOC, rants, etc

Hello fellow Powderworkers,

as most of you will have noted, the Powderworks mailing-list has been
closed for the past couple of weeks. I have asked the former list owner
Cheryl to pass the list on to me so everybody can decide whether the
list should continue to exist. Currently there are 640 members on the
list. Regrettably, due to the temporal closing of the list, all past
messages, files, photos and links have been lost so I'd like to ask you
to contribute and help to rebuild these contents. For now the big
question is if this list should stay on at all considering that Midnight
OIl is no longer. I will start a poll on this soon. I am new to managing
a mailing list so please bear with me if things don't run so smooth in
the beginning. Finally, I want to thank Cheryl for hosting this list for
the past couple of years and for giving me the opportunity to take over.

Regards,

Stephan
