Well I basically lurked when I was "active", so I'm really coming from under the covers to post this.  I hope the list continues.  I still like reading the posted messages.  I have to admit I don't read the Peter Politics Posts very much, but I'm interested to hear what the other bandmembers are doing.  Coincidentally, I recently took an extended car ride and took all my Ghostwriters CDs with me.  I've not listened to them in a long time.  Very cool.

I have a lot of really great memories from the Oils.  The 1992 show of Hothouse Flowers, Ziggy Marley, and Midnight Oil from the ESM tour still stands as one of the best live shows I've ever seen.  If it weren't for this list I wouldn't have known to drive to DC to see them at the 9:30 Club in March 2002 (and then drive back home to Raleigh that same night).  I have a whole catalog of CDs (including the Green Album and Best of the B Sides), but I wouldn't have all the boots if it weren't for this list.  I've met a few folks from this list (long gone), and communicated with far more in this rarified community.  I'll continue to read as long as others continue to post.

Best Regards, Jeff

Hello fellow Powderworkers,

as most of you will have noted, the Powderworks mailing-list has been
closed for the past couple of weeks. I have asked the former list owner
Cheryl to pass the list on to me so everybody can decide whether the
list should continue to exist. Currently there are 640 members on the
list. Regrettably, due to the temporal closing of the list, all past
messages, files, photos and links have been lost so I'd like to ask you
to contribute and help to rebuild these contents. For now the big
question is if this list should stay on at all considering that Midnight
OIl is no longer. I will start a poll on this soon. I am new to managing
a mailing list so please bear with me if things don't run so smooth in
the beginning. Finally, I want to thank Cheryl for hosting this list for
the past couple of years and for giving me the opportunity to take over.

Regards,

Stephan
