The band gave us 25 years of music, which is a not a bad record for any =
band.
And now the band as it was is gone and it seems like there is a desire =
to take sides
with different band members in a she said, he said mind set. This is =
all seems pointless,
we will never know what people were thinking at any set period in time =
and lets be honest
its none of our business. Midnight Oil were in the music business, to =
make and play music,
not some alternative family members that live next door.
My own opinion is that the band as Midnight Oil is over, Peter Garrett =
was the
public identity of the band and sadly he left the group after a very =
long time.
The remaining members will do something, together or not but don't ask =
or expect
it be a hybrid of the original band because its gone.
Someone mentioned that they were bitter about Pete's decision based on =
how drastic it affects the families of the other members. This band was =
around for a long time, at certain
times immensely popular which would suggest they were financial =
solvent over a number of years and they still generate income from =
sales, all in all a life style I would
have loved to have had..
