Dont know if this has been mentioned before but apparently No Mans Land was
written by Eric Bogle well known Oz folk singer from here in Adelaide,
writer also of The Band played Waltzing Matilda an Oils cover. Apparently it
is one of Tony Blairs favorite peace songs. Irony there.
A letter to the editor talking about the new generation of peace songs was
published in the Adelaide Advertiser today mentioning this. Unfortunately I
cant seem to find that section on their website.

In the context of the song, I took the "loveless gods" to be the
personification of the nations involved...
