[Powderworks] What lyrics!

I was thinking today, one of my favorite things about the Oils is the fact that their lyrics are so consistently good. And, when they do miss, they aren't cringe-worthy. This came to me as I was listening to Achtung Baby. Consider "One" where this most triumphant lyric:

Have you come here for forgivness?
Have you come to raise the dead?
Have you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head?

is followed immediately by this "gem":

Did I ask too much?
More than a lot?
You gave me nothing
Now it's all I got.

therefore ruining what started off as one hell of a verse.

What? In the year-and-a-half you worked on this record you couldn't come up with anything better than "more than a lot?"

I know Mr. Hirst would never pen something that awful, and if he did, Jim would most assuredly hit him with a blunt object if he ever tried to put it on the album.

Just my thoughts,
BJ

Today, I heard George Bush say he wanted to go to war against Iraq to pursue justice.

I think George is confusing "pursuing justice" with "making people forget the economy stinks."
