These threads are like a guilty pleasure but I love them...

Favorite Artist:
Just one? Come on...
New Model Army: intense, melodic, lyrical, passionate, original,
unique, powerful blend of punk, folk, rock, goth, new-wave and
basically anything else they like that sounds like no one else. If
you haven't checked them out by now then DO SO!
The Weakerthans: Socialist rock from Winnepeg, Canada. Some of the
best lyrics you are ever likely to hear. The music varies mainly
between a sort of lo-fi pop-punk and mellow folk. The vocalist has
a "cutish" voice that offsets the raw music quite nicely. CHECK THEM
OUT TOO!
Ghostwriters: duh...

Favorite Album:
Again, only one? Okay, for the moment I would say Thunder and
Consolation by New Model Army.

Favorite Song:
There's really too many. The first that comes to mind is
Ghostwriters: Ready Steady Go.

Favorite album by a female artist:
Anything by Enya

Favorite song by a female artist:
Well I really like "Carnaval" by Natalie Merchant. I love her voice

Favorite Performance by a solo artist:
not sure...

Favorite rock song:
tough one again. First good rocker that comes to mind is "What's the
Frequency Kenneth" by REM.

Favorite rap/hip-hop song:
None! Whew, at last an easy one!

Favorite country song:
See above

Favorite metal/industrial/elektronika song:
I don't listen to much in this category but "Democracy" by Killing
Joke is pretty interesting.

Favorite "not-so serious" artist:
lol, okay.
Arrogant Worms: Canadian satire-folk
Captain Tractor: Canadian celtic-rock. (they do a fun cover of the
Clash "London Calling" check it out!)
They Might Be Giants: you know them from Malcolm in the Middle but a
lot of their music is quite quirky and different.

Best music to celebrate to:
Really can't think of anything...

Best music after a crappy, crappy day:
Depends on my mood after the day:
-anti-social: New Model Army
-tense/frustrated: Oils; RW, or Rancid, REALLY LOUD!!!
-beaten up: Weakerthans, it's like having a friend commiserate with
you.

Best music to fall in love to:
don't know...
How about the Dead Kennedy's? Lol I really don't know...

Best music to pump you up:
Live. Good intensity.
U2: Elevation

Best music to mellow out to:
Enya
Oils: Breathe (sorry but it's right up there!)

Most emotional music:
The Weakerthans

Best song/album from the 60s or before:
Waaaaay before my time. I know some music from the era but don't have
any favorites.

70s:
Yech!

80s:
Anything NMA, or the Cure

90s and 00s:
Collective Soul, Rancid, Live

Best Soundtrack:
The Lion King! Joking, it's just stuck in my head...dammit!

Your current "guilty pleasure:"
Jimmy Eat World: Bleed American

>I can't explain it, but I can't get enough.

Exactly!

Name one more song you like that you haven't mentioned yet:
54-40: Casual Viewing.
I don't know, it's just cute...

My additions:

Favorite punk song:
Bad Religion: Kyoto Now!
Rancid: Avenues and Alleyways, Disorder and Disarray (or anything
else with an alliteration in the title-! ;)
New Model Army: Small Town England, Here comes the War (let's not
argue about whether this constitutes punk or not...it's close enough)

Favorite folk song:
Ghosties: Doesn't Take a House to fall on me
Anything by Simon and Garfunkel
Captain Tractor: Lord of the Dance
New Model Army: Better than them, Lovesongs, Purity, Family Life

Sorry for all the repeats. Most of my favorites are made up of three
or four bands.
