Speaking of incongruous songs in commercials, the worst sell out example I
can think of was a Wrangler Jeans commercial that ran a few months ago in
the US. If you haven't seen it it goes like this:

Its a patriotic scene: Images of jean clad people cut with images of
American flags, and the background music is the opening to "Fortunate Son"
by CCR. Then John Fogarty sings the first line of the song: "Some people
were born to wave the flag, oooh they are red white and blue yeah" And cut.
  End of commercial.

You never hear the next lines:

"And when the band plays 'Hail to the chief',
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord,
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son.
It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no."

What is an anti-patriotic Vietnam protest song was totally flipped around,
and I imagine CCR fans having a bitter laugh over that one.

Exit Artist Cue Entertainer cause someone Sold Out.
