If I didn't know better, I'd have thought it was Neil Young!  I've always 
wondered why Petty's work was not more overtly social and political when 
the man himself is a tireless supporter and performer of antinuclear and 
environmental and social justice causes.  Sounds like that is changing.

I tabled Tom Petty concerts for Greenpeace in the mid '90s and had 
backstage access that I was working too hard to enjoy ... except that his 
people came out to the table and invited us to come have something to eat 
before the show!
