Way too many fine examples of brilliant songwriting, I could probably pick
any Oils song and give reasons as to why it is a great example. However if
I had to just choose a few then i would say Bushfire for sure. Listen to
all the layers of the song as they build up one by one gradually through
the song, amazing. Martin Rotsey said an interview that they were
particularly proud of that one.

Renaissance Man, listen to everything that is going on in that song with
the interplay of the guitars and the hammond organ underneath, awesome.
Going back a few years, the Quinella Holiday/Loves on Sale medley from
Postcard, really interesting little riffs all the way through, great
playing on all counts and for more recent stuff, World that I see. I really
think this song is a masterpiece. Such beautiful guitar work, lyrics that
evoke strong images of this beautiful country. The music and lyrics just
fot so perfectly, it really is a musical masterpiece.

I could go on and on.....and on, but I think you get my drift.

Steve.
