you'd think that someone who reviews music for a living would have at least 
some idea of how the industry works.  if an album is to be released in 
February it all needs to be recorded and pretty much finished by about 
september/october in order to be ready in time.  listen to the tapes of the 
Oils US shows from late last year, and you'll hear PG refer to the new 
songs as "recorded but not yet released".  so to expect a band approaching 
the end of the recording phase to react to an incident like that and 
instantly write and record a bunch of songs about it is just ludicrous - 
especially a band like the Oils who like to road test their new material 
for about a year before recording.

i'm sure we'll see some sort of reference to Sept 11 in future work, but i 
doubt it'll be in the form of a song or songs specifically about that 
incident.  that's just not the way they work.

i know i'm talking to the wrong people here, but just had to get it out...
