Capricornia is great!!!!!!
After listening to Capricornia for the past week-and-a-half, my favorite =
songs are as follows:
1.Luritja way (really should be the next single)
2.Mosquito March
3.Tone Poem
4.Golden Age
5.Poets & Slaves - (would like to hear a Magoo re-mix!!! Like the =
ambient version of The Great Gibber Plain)
6.World that I See
In general, the album sounds like a mix of every Oil's album out to =
date. What I mean is that I could place each song on another album. The =
new disc makes me want to pull out every album and listen to them =
straight through.
Here is how I placed the new songs....
1. Golden Age - a little "Earth and Sun and Moon" sounding
2. Too Much Sunshine - "Redneck Wonderland" (well maybe if a few samples =
were added:) )
3.Capricornia - could be placed on "Breathe"
4.Luritja Way - very much a "Blue Sky Mining" song
5.Tone Poem - "Diesel and Dust" sounding or "10-1" if I make a stretch:-
6.A Crocodile Cries - "Red Sails in the Sunset"
7.Mosquito March - "Head Injuries" all the way till the end!
8.Been Away Too Long - "Earth and Sun and Moon"
9.Say Your Prayers - "Liberdade" hmm that was hard
10.Under the Overpass - "Breathe" , "Diesel and Dust" , and maybe =
"Place Without a Postcard" sounding
11.World that I See - "Blue Sky Mining" (the main guitar riff sounds a =
bit like Forgotten Years?)
12.Poets and Slaves - "Red Sail in the Sunset"
Just my thoughts!
