Although I hardly ever post to the list, just because I'm more of a lurker
than a contributor doesn't mean I'm any less of a fan. And most people who
know me pretty well know what a huge Midnight Oil fan I am and have been now
for 20 years. The day the news broke I had 5 phone calls and half a dozen
SMS messages. But I had to have a little laugh when I received a Get Well
Soon card in the mail. There was no return address, so I have little clue
who sent it, but I thought I'd share it with the list.

On the front it says Get Well Soon with a photo of Peter Garrett clued to
it. Inside it reads;

Dear Darren,

Sorry your feeling off colour! But the time had to come
eventually-I'll always remember you in the 4th row. You wouldn't 'Read About
It'. Remember 'Only The Strong' survive. This card is 'Written From The
Heart'. I 'Don't Wanna Be The One' to tell you this, but you live in the
'Lucky Country' and you have a lot to be thankful for. I'll see you in 'The
Outside World' down in Byron Bay one day so put on a 'Brave Faces'. I know
you don't have a 'Short Memory' so I'll always be apart of you. You were
living in a 'Dreamworld' if you thought it would last forever.
I know right now you have a 'Dead Heart' but 'Put Down That Weapon'
there's 'Alway's Someone Else To Blame'. I had a vision and 'Someone's
Trying To Tell Me Something', so I've called it quits. One day in the near
future I'll be 'King Of The Mountain' once more.

Vote 1 Greens SAVE OUR TREES

Love you forever you loyal little fella

Love Peter Garrett.

Like I said, I have little idea who sent this, and whether they're a fan or
not, or someone trying to have a little fun at my expense. But I thought it
was quite good, and they know their songs pretty well. They got 'Written In
The Heart' slightly wrong, or maybe that was just to make it fit in better.
