Midnight Oil

[Powderworks] more NYC - sorry for repost, wrong subject

If the band died in a freak tragedy, would I be wearing the shirt? Also,
what do I care if 10% of the cash goes to charity? Shouldn't it be 100% of
the profits? Maybe this is kicking a dead horse....

I see where they are coming from Gabe, you own a Midnight Oil shirt? The
Oils your heroes? Well I betcha that there are a few people in America that
believe the NYPD and NYFD are heroes, they buy and wear these shirts to
honour these guys. Also it wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of
charity spin off to the purchase of these items at the moment, you know 10%
of all sales goes to help those that lost loved ones on 11 Sep.

Cheers

I will publicly admit that I live in a bag right now.

I live in a bag. There is no television there.

This idea of it beeing a sign of support doesn't make any sense to me
though. It very well may be the case. It also may be the case that you've
all been brainwashed by marketeers.

ciaosy,
gabe

Hello?

Not being sensitive by wearing a FDNY shirt?!? Have you been living in a
bag?!? People all over the place are wearing NYFD and NYPD shirts and hats
as a sign of SUPPORT, not as a sign of their own insensitivity.

Pete

I thought you guys would like to hear about this exchange I heard at the
front of the line at the World.

Passerby: What is this line for?
Oil's Fan: We are here to see Midnight Oil.
Passerby: Is that a new wrestler?

We at the front all laughed.

Also, did anyone else notice the drummer to Will Hogue took his sweater off
during the show. Beneath it, he had an FDNY shirt. It doesn't seem like
those guys are being too sensitive.
