He has merged into the country scene the past 5 years or so. I caught up with him back in 2010 at a gig in Florida and had a wonderful chat with him about the Oils.

I just read this Rolling Stone article and thought some of you might like it.  They were a good opening act for the Oils on the '01-'02 tour.  I don't remember them being Country, though.
